First trip to the ER....

At Molly's 18-month wellness checkup, her pediatrician warned us to not be surprised if we visit the ER before she turned 3-years old. That prediction came true much earlier than we thought! On Wednesday, Molly somehow fell and hit her head on a step stool at school. Her teachers quickly got the bleeding under control but the cut looked a bit deep, so we took her over to urgent care who then sent us down to the ER for Molly to get stitched up. Fortunately, they were able to use this Dermabond glue instead of regular stitches, so the worst part of it for Molly was just being held down to have the cut cleaned and the glue applied.

Molly was a champ through the whole experience and didn't seem phased by it all one bit! She read the 5 Little Monkeys book with a little girl who's poor sister was waiting to have an eraser pulled out of her ear! She looked at the big fish tank in the waiting room, ate some hospital cheese pizza and veggies, and said "hi" and "thank you" to all the nurses and technicians that helped us. But probably her favorite part was being pulled around the hospital in a wagon! One of the many benefits of having a top children's hospital in town is that it's well outfitted for kids.

Molly was back at school the next day, happy as a clam! Unfortunately she might have started a trend in the classroom however... The next day one of the other children fell and his his head and needed stitches! We're hoping they hit their quota now for the rest of the week!

Here's a picture of Molly before they stitched her up.. Doesn't look that bad really, but I guess it was deep.

Here's a picture afterwards as we're leaving the ER & one at home.
